Eight financial reasons to use Mac

Cio wrote an excelent article with the eight financial reasons why you should use Mac OS. In a nutshell, the reasons are:

  • Macs bring a better overall value proposition
  • Macintosh licensing fees are cheaper
  • The Mac desktop spawns fewer calls to the help desk
  • Mac users are more productive workers
  • Macs last longer
  • Mac OS is more secure
  • Mac is just as cost-effective as Windows to manage and administer
  • Add Macs while hanging on to your investments in other OSes

    Of course all this is useless if you live in Portugal and you have a problem with your Mac... Mine is at Interlog for the forth time in just under a year and man, could i tell you a thing or two about those guys.... Anyway a replacement deal was proposed by Apple, but it had to happen in Spanish territory, which is illegal according to our law. Given this experience, i don't think Mac is a suitable platform for a professional or company _in_ Portugal.
