I tested XGL on my Home pc with a Geforce 7800 GT and works! I havent tested with a slow pc because i dont have one... sorry. The docs on Xgl aren't too clear on hardware support, and my guess is that most low-end PCs don't have the right kind of card... It's like the old SGI days - a crummy CPU can do wonders with the right GPU alongside...
