Cio wrote an excelent article with the eight financial reasons why you should use Mac OS. In a nutshell, the reasons are:

Macs bring a better overall value proposition
Macintosh licensing fees are cheaper
The Mac desktop spawns fewer calls to the help desk
Mac users are more productive workers
Macs last longer
Mac OS is more secure
Mac is just as cost-effective as Windows to manage and administer
Add Macs while hanging on to your investments in other OSes

Of course all this is useless if you live in Portugal and you have a problem with your Mac... Mine is at Interlog for the forth time in just under a year and man, could i tell you a thing or two about those guys.... Anyway a replacement deal was proposed by Apple, but it had to happen in Spanish territory, which is illegal according to our law. Given this experience, i don't think Mac is a suitable platform for a professional or company _in_ Portugal.
